Start file to hold all papers!
Secure property description sheet, agreement of sale & all relevant papers on buying home.
Compare mover's and set up details if using a moving company.
Choose attorney, notify your agent.
Apply for mortgage financing, notify your agent.
Secure necessary documentation for your mortgage lender.
Keep in regular contact (weekly minimum) with your mortgage lender to make sure all required papers have been given to process loan.
Obtain home inspection, if required by contract.
Obtain wood destroying insect report, if required by contract.
Obtain structural certification if wood destroying insects are found.
Obtain well/septic certification, if required by contract.
Obtain homeowner's insurance on your new home.
Deliver second deposit, if required by contract.
Transfer utilities into your name. (phone,water,electric,cable,trash,fuel oil).
Do final walk-thru inspection within 2 days of settlement.
Confirm final mover's details.
Obtain certified check for settlement.
Go to settlement! Bring file so you have any & all papers readily available.
Send change of address cards. (www.usps.com)
Notify Motor Vehicle of address change. Update license and voter registration.
Cancel old homeowners, if applicable.
